Upon attending a used book fair, I met an acquaintance in the “Classics” section. We discussed the friendly rivalry between Tolkien and Lewis, the superlative writing talent of John Steinbeck, and compared the cover art of two volumes of Homer’s Oddessy. The whole conversation lasted all of five minutes, but I walked away with a little more faith in the taste and intelligence of mankind.

I love those moments. When I’m in a bookstore or in a movie store I love being approached by fans of the same thing. It reminds me I am not a dying breed who visits and meets new people who have the same likes as I. Loved the post!
